We are attending the Colorado Homeschool Conference otherwise known as Christian Home Educators of Colorado (CHEC). The more and more that I get to know the gentlemen that run this particular conference the more I am impressed by their vision. Did you get that? This conference is run by MEN....with a VISION!
Our conference day started by listening to Doug Phillips talk about family vision. I was so encouraged! Then we listened to Kevin Swanson talk about his vision of mentorship and apprenticeship.
I am all for this!
Tomorrow is Voddie Baucham and some more from Doug Phillips and Kevin Swanson.
I have been so blessed by this conference. Let me count the ways:
1. Our family's admission and concert tickers were all taken care of by CHEC. They have a fund for widows and Kevin Swanson is a huge advocate of taking good care of widows and orphans. Praise the Lord!
2. Our friends are allowing us to use their hotel room adjacent to the conference center for one of our older children to watch the younger ones.
3. I received an extra ten dollars off of the rate on the hotel room.
4. The family who is cooking all of the food for the conference workers and speakers insists that we eat with them. So, now our food is taken care of also.
I am truly overwhelmed by the graciousness of these brothers and sisters in Christ. I am also overwhelmed by God's good gifts. My cup runneth over!

And here I was thinking you could be home most any day now, HA! But I'm so happy to hear you are at this conference. I know you are being blessed hands over fist. (I've never really ever understood that phrase but you know what I'm trying to say.) How wonderful to have men involved! Men involved in Christian Education? What a concept!! The conference sounds like a wonderful event. And I'm really glad you are there. Take care and enjoy the different speakers. This trip has probably been the best thing you could have done for yourself and the kids right now. I know the Lord will continue to bless you. Stay healthy and stay safe.

The children asked the other day where y'all were... I thought you were almost home too. I'll have to tell them you're still in CO.

Heather,

Once again, God is so good! How He truly loves to bless his children. May you be encouraged and inspired to continue continuing on in your homeschooling of your kiddos. But as Lisa said, COME HOME SOON, WE MISS YOU!

On this father's day, I wanted you to know that I am lifting you and your family up before the Lord. You were on my heart so strongly this morning, and I know it was the Holy Spirit bringing you to my mind. I can't imagine having to walk this day or any other in your shoes. My husband too is my best friend, lover, and so much more. I know the Lord will be faithful as you continue down this road.
grace and peace,
julie

Heather,

I too was thinking of you and the kids today on Father's Day. Each of this hurdles has got to be so hard. But I keep thinking of what you have mentioned many times that "God is the Father to the fatherless." May you and the kids sense that very strongly today.

Miss you and can't wait to catch up.

Heather,

I came across your blog right before Eric passed away and I've been reading ever since. I lost my grandfather last month (he raised me) and I found myself crying over him today. Suddenly, I thought of you and your kids and prayed for all of you. Comfort is found in the arms of our Eternal Father during these hard times. God Bless you and your family.

It's so exciting to read about where you've been and what you're doing. I'm thrilled that you are able to attend this conference and hear such great speakers. What a blessing!

But, you are missed, and I'm so glad that you will be back next week!

Heather, I just wanted you and the kids to know that I am holding all of you up to the Lord for comfort this Father's Day. I hope you guys can all feel the Spirit's arms around you and I am confident that our God can see you through this difficult day. But I uphold you all anyway. God bless and drive safely coming home.
