Something Good, Something Beautiful

JUNE 26th 10am-3pm at the RIVERBEND RANCH in OAKDALE, CALIFORNIA!

For the past several years we have been helping to promote a worthy cause. Our dear friends, the Kjeldgaards, wanted to teach their children a valuable lesson; teach their eight children the value of money, the value of time, the value of helping those that need our help.
For the past three years they have spent many, many hours coming up with creative ideas for their annual carnival.
The first year they raised funds for the orphanage that Brown Sugar and Foley came from - Acres of Hope.
The second year they raised funds for the Davis Education fund...we have bought curriculum with it and enjoyed some great classes that we would not have been able to do otherwise.
Last year they raised funds for two great organizations: Agape Children's ministries and Seeds in His Garden ministry.

This year we have the privilige of helping the Kjeldgaard family raise funds for
Drawn from the Water.
I have to tell you that the first time Lisa told me about this incredible ministry to orphans in Africa I had chills. I still tear up and get chills when I talk about this great work.
Please visit their site here to learn more...it will truly touch your heart!

The Kjeldgaard family live on a very large walnut ranch in Central California.
They graciously open up their ranch for us to all enjoy a day of family fun.

There are fun games...every year they bring back the classics and also come up with new, creative games that will keep you coming back for more.
There is even a dunk tank...way too much fun seeing our Pastor or our favorite Dentist being dunked into the cold water. Last year we had a gentleman that dressed up in a suit and was dunked plenty of times...briefcase and all!

Face painting is a must at a carnival and boy, do we have some creative people with brush in hand!

And, what's a great carnival without a cake walk?
There is also great food and drink to buy.

So, don't miss out! This is down home fun...this is the kind of fun that you have thought might never happen in this technology driven day and age.
I know you will enjoy the time you will spend with your family and at the same time you will be helping a worthy cause.

Heather,
Love the new look of your blog - so fresh & spring/summer-ish!

If you & Phil get your faces painted, will you be sharing photos?
