Almost Home

Last pictures before we head home.  These are not necessarily in order but I was so thrilled to actually be able to use Picasa with my Mac that I really did not care.  Yep! You heard right...I now am the owner of a Mac and boy do I have a lot to learn.
The Haroldson family and our family.  Quite a few of them were wet, wet, wet from swimming in the pool.
Snake! This is what we heard from the little girls.  We found this gopher snake (over 5ft long) "playing" with the girls by the swingset.  You know you have a house full of homeschoolers when they are all out in the yard skinning and dissecting the poor critter after smashing his head.  The coolest part of the whole ordeal (for the kids) was the beating heart even after they had skinned the thing.  Ugh!
Tracy, Amy, and I.  More Patriarch Wives to add to the list of those I have met or were reacquainted with on this trip.
The oldest Haroldson girl made this beautiful coffee ring for breakfast one morning.  It tasted at good as it looked.  After eating this lovely breakfast we took the van down to the dealership where we found out that there was nothing wrong with the van.  The lack of oxygen at the high elevation had overheated the fuel pump causing a vapor lock.  He said that we would have no problem driving home...Praise God!
Boo...what will we do with you!  She is quite the lady and yet quite the pioneer woman.
The kids at the Aztec ruins.
The Haroldson and the Davis kids at the Aztec ruins...woohoo!  Another field trip to add to the list.
Miss M, Boo, and a few of the girls from Reformation church in Colorado.
This was one of the views of the Rocky Mountains that we enjoyed on our way to New Mexico.
Our trailer on the side of the road getting a lot of assistance.
Lil' Cowboy looking like a little cowboy.
Whew!  What a mess of kids playing instruments to the Lord.  I was at the piano with Boo, Mrs. Cabrera, and I singing.  Mr. Cabrera was playing the guitar.  It is always nice to find folks that are talented musicians to play with.
Boo with Brown Sugar and a few new friends.  Dear Sara came to stay with the Chapa children while they were at the CHEC convention.  We enjoyed having her around for a couple of days before the convention.
Our dear friends the Chapas.  They were incredibly hospitable and Mrs. Chapa has become a very close friend.
The Swanson girls with our family.
I love this picture.  Mr. Chapa took our children in and treated them like his own.  This is one of those pictures we took right before we said good-bye.  Lots of tears.

The Garden of the gods is a state park just right outside of Colorado Springs.
Cousins along a rock formation in Garden of the gods.
Silly cousins!
Madie showing off her baked creation....kind of.
Ella and Brown Sugar snuggling with Auntie (Mommy).
Tea time at the Chapas.  We have the Roach girls, the Davis girls, the Chapa girls, and a Storee girl.
My high school friend and I reunited after twelve years.  We had such a wonderful time.
Okay, these are really out of order.  Here are a bunch of guys just...talking.  Hmmmm...I bet it has something to do with theology.
The Chapas, Swansons, Magees, and Me.  The Magees are from England.  They flew in for the CHEC conference.  It was fascinating to hear about what the Lord is doing in His church and in the homeschool movement.
Glen Erie which is the Navigator's conference grounds.  It is beautiful or at least what we could see of it.  You have to pay now to be able to see the whole castle.  The grounds are beautiful.
Brown Sugar's latest idea of fun...getting into stuff.  Here she has Boo's foundation spread all over her face.  She actually came out saying "See Mom?"
O-kay, I thought this was funny.  Two two year olds in a baby seat.  Hey, it got them to where they wanted to go.
So, the kids are waiting for me to finish this post so that we can get on the road.  We are planning on driving all night long and get home tomorrow morning.  This way we will beat the desert heat and really there is nothing to see that we haven't seen already.
Home again, home again jiggety jog.

You have seen some beautiful countryside, and obviously have been blessed by so many on this trip. I have enjoyed reading about your adventures. We drove by your hometown area a couple weeks ago on our way to San Diego and prayed for you, even though I knew you were somewhere else. SO happy you found DSL...your absence didn't go unnoticed.

Congratulations on a trip well-taken! It looks like you all have made some great memories and enjoyed wonderful fellowship. I am sad that our paths did not cross - we are headed to Centerville Saturday, and then to Colorado. Another time, hopefully!

Peace,
Patsy

Yeah! Can't believe we will finally be seeing you soon! Javan can't even remember the last time he saw Goose. He wondered if they would look different to each other!
Hope to see you Sunday.

Thomas will be so proud of you for getting a MAC. You'll have to endure, I mean enjoy, all his interesting MAC analogies. He's a big fan. :)

I love the pictures! I'm so thankful that y'all could have this trip. We've been praying for your safety and fellowship every day. And we're glad that it's not too much longer before we get to meet you, too!

Yippee! Can't wait to see you all! I declare a homecoming trip to get a bowl of Swiss Orange Chip is in order :D

I know which Davis girl thought the snake's beating heart was really cool...

And, I am bummed you couldn't see the whole castle. It's quite pretty.

See you tomorrow!!!

Wow! What wonderful pictures of memories you'll carry with you for a lifetime. I couldn't help but notice everyone smiles in all the pictures. Could that be the joy of the Lord? You guys all had a wonderful time and you don't look any worse for the wear. This has been a trip of a lifetime for all of you! When things get tough, let these memories soothe your aches and pains. Take care my friend and here's hoping you're home now. Bet it will feel wonderful to sleep in your own beds again.
