Another Hard Week

Thank you so much for your prayers.  They are much needed as I work through a week of loneliness and heartache.  The 4th of July, Independence day, was always Eric's and my favorite holiday.  It was not only our Country's birthday but Eric's "half" birthday.

Last year we started a new tradition...we have a block party on the 3rd of July.  We block off the street and let the kids ride their bikes and play on that same street.  We also have fun painting faces, playing water games, and creating fun star spangled crafts.  We bbque with our neighbors and enjoy fireworks and homemade ice cream.  It really is quite fun and hopefully a tradition that our children will love to talk about in years to come.

This 4th of July we will forgo the usual breakfast at a downtown eatery.  We will also forgo the downtown parade.  Instead we will enjoy the company of the Kjeldgaard family and the Fletcher kiddos.  One of the traditions that we will continue is going to the local baseball game.  It always ends with a grand display of fireworks.  Eric bought these tickets for us before he died.  He always bought a package of six games a year with one always being on the 4th.  Let me just say that this time I will be carrying a lot of tissue with me.

Hang in there, Heather, believe it or not, one day you're going to look back at this and not cry.

I hope you have a good Fourth. Everyone I know is making all kinds of plans. (We have none.) We'll go out Friday night and watch the fireworks on the cul-de-sac and that will be the extent of our formal celebration. But we will probably watch the Boston Pops "Pops Goes the Fourth" hopefully we can find that somewhere on a channel to watch. That's about the only tradition we have around the Fourth. Take care, Heather,

Marj

I am praying for you during this hard time, asking the Lord to gently guide you through Heather. May His grace be sufficient for all of your needs at this time. I hope your 4th was a good one and I have been following and praying for baby Joe. The Lord is really working there.
