Journeys

This past Saturday our church had a very nice brunch for the ladies.
There were three speakers who shared with us their own journey to joy.
I consider all three of these ladies my good friends...I knew their "back" stories, if you will.

That got me thinking...
my eyes started to wander about the room and at each table I thought about the different journey each woman has been on.
We have women in our church who have dealt with the sadness of miscarriage,
the pain of abuse,
the grief of infertility,
the hardship of surgery and major health issues,
the loneliness of widowhood,
the heartbreak of watching children walk away from the Lord,
and the list goes on...

What we all have in common is a dependence on the LORD God Almighty.
Women who have had a change of heart...
one that is focused on living for the now, understanding that all things work together for our good and for His glory.
Women who are willing to share their experiences in order to help others.
Women who are compassionate and empathetic towards those who are hurting.
What a gift we have...our journeys give us something to share.

During this beautiful and yet often sad time of the year for those who have suffered or are continuing to suffer I hope that you will offer your support and empathy.
Who knows...the Lord might use your journey to bring light to a lost soul.
